Quiet street, walkable town
Parkway Motel is on Lowe Street, facing a large park with playgrounds, barbecue areas, tennis courts, and nearby bowls and croquet clubs. Supermarkets are only a couple of minutes on foot, and the main shopping, café, pub, and restaurant strip is walking distance. The Queanbeyan Aquatic Centre is across the road for summer swims.
Capital sights & airports
Canberra Airport is about ten minutes by car. Allow roughly twenty minutes into the city centre depending on traffic. National institutions on many guests' lists include the Parliamentary Triangle, Questacon, the National Gallery of Australia, the National Portrait Gallery, and the Australian War Memorial.
Parkway Motel is also a practical base for visitors to Queanbeyan Hospital or Canberra Hospital.
Winter stopover
Many travellers heading to Thredbo or Perisher in July and August break the journey in Queanbeyan. Parkway Motel offers simple, affordable accommodation around two hours from the snow, often at lower rates than towns closer to the resorts.
